Canon has decided to miss the PMA 2010 exhibition to be held in California in February . Oh oh, that can it be good, can it?
PMA is one of the largest photographic shows in the world and Canon has always had one of the largest stands. IT would seem strange for Canon not to be present, but Canon has stated that they will concentrate on the CES show in Vegas instead. CES is the Consumer Electronics Shows and covers everything from cameras to TV’s to mobile phones.
Nobody might be talking about this decision yet, but it is a real slap in the face to photographers. If you’ve ever been to a PMA before, you’ll see the Canon stands full of people.
Apparently, the global downturn has extended to the marketing department. It looks like they must have cut back on someone with a brain. Maybe they could give me a position and I could show them how to do it.
And just when they released a great camera in the 7D, you would think they would keen to really showcase it at every opportunity. Apparently not.
Why will this hurt Canon? Because Nikon WILL be showcasing some products, including 3 new lenses.
